Responsible Cleaner in Jyväskylä

Hello, my name is Rabia, I am 31 years old, and I have been living in Jyväskylä for four months as an Erasmus doctoral exchange student. I am fluent in English and have started learning Finnish. I have both formal and informal experience in housekeeping. From a young age in Turkey, I learned domestic responsibilities as part of everyday life. I gained experience in cleaning, organizing, and caring for my younger siblings when my parents were unavailable. During my high school years, I lived in a girls’ dormitory where there were no cleaning staff, so students rotated duties, maintaining cleanliness in bathrooms, study rooms, dormitories, kitchens, and even outdoor areas. This gave me hands-on experience in a wide range of housekeeping tasks from an early age. Between 2021 and 2023, alongside my doctoral studies, I worked in a university girls’ dormitory as an Assistant Manager and Administrative Officer. My responsibilities included supervising cleanliness and order in student rooms and common areas, participating in cleaning when needed, monitoring the organization of event and activity spaces, managing pantry stocks and their hygiene, tracking deficiencies, and supporting menu and meal oversight. These tasks enhanced my skills and practical experience in housekeeping. In addition, I have worked as a barista and waitress in a café, where I also took part in cleaning duties, further strengthening my practical housekeeping skills. I am polite, understanding, and respectful in human interactions, maintain clear boundaries, give my best in tasks I am familiar with, and remain open to learning in areas I am not yet experienced in.
